Petru is now the CEO of Tiriac Holdings, with businesses in banking and financial services, automotive industry, real estate, retail and security. His extensive international work experience include Moscow where he headed the equity brokerage and international business for Uralsib and the equity research for Renaissance Capital, London, where he was the Global Emerging Market Strategist for CLSA and Chief Investment Officer Emerging Markets for SEB Investment Mgt and New York, where he started as a Banking analyst for JP Morgan and continued as the Head of Financial Institutional Research Latin America for Bear Stearns, Co-head of GEM Equity Research for Caspian Securities and Head of Financial Institutional Research Latin America for ING Barings.
Petru started his education with a BA and an MS in biochemistry, both from Columbia University, working to become an academic but later decided that business suits him better and went for an MBA at Yale Business School.
